TESTING TO MIL-STD-461 A, B, C, D, E, F AND G

E-Labs, Inc. offers Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) as well as Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing services.

Our reference standards are tested to MIL-STD-461 A, B, C, D, E, F and G. This type of testing is required for devices, systems, and applications within the military and aerospace industries. Weapons, aircraft, ground and support equipment, electrical, and electronic systems must meet the established requirements.

During electromagnetic interference the component’s electrical circuit is affected due to either electromagnetic conduction or electromagnetic radiation from an external source.

Signal emissions radiating from the component are tested based on their frequency range. High frequency emissions are measured through free space as radiated emissions. Low frequency signals are measured through a conductor as conducted emissions. We can test Emissions and Susceptibility to 40GHz. Susceptibility is tested in order to determine the products inability to function when being exposed to an interfering signal. This interfering signal may be in the form of a carrier wave, modulated signal, spike voltage, or transient event. We can generate Radiated Susceptibility fields across the frequency range of 10 KHz to 40 GHz.

If you're concerned about the ability of your product to withstand electric fields, E-labs will test for Radiated Susceptibility Electric Fields. We can test your equipment and sub-system enclosures as well as all interconnecting cables for Radiated Susceptibility in accordance with RS103 from 2 MHz up to 40 GHz.

We have large anechoic test chambers with high current DC and AC sources available. They are built with echo suppression features and radiation absorbent material to minimize reflection of RF waves. This radiation absorbent material is arranged in an array of pyramid shaped rubberized foam material filled with a controlled iron and carbon mixture. The design allows for the gradual absorption of power as the wave penetrates the material.

Locating the source of an electromagnetic interference problem can be a difficult task. Setbacks may be due to electrical or mechanical design, self compatibility problems, or improper field installation.

Contact E-Labs Inc. to help prevent or troubleshoot EMI problems before they can have an unexpected negative impact on operational performance.

Our highly trained EMI engineers can perform mitigation to solve any EMI problem. Diagnostic skills are used to identify, isolate, and fix EMI problems. Design reviews can be conducted for products that are early in the design stage. Detailed EMI analysis can be done in the case of complex electronics that are to be integrated in larger systems.
